Supplier Relations Executive

Purpose of the role

To maximise WTH (UK) Ltd relationships with all suppliers whilst securing beneficial and achievable commercial terms, override targets and agreed levels of marketing contributions.  This is a key role that forms an essential link between WTH (UK) Ltd and our suppliers.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Attend supplier meetings to develop relationships with our Account Managers to maximise sales and earnings
  • Work with our suppliers to secure deals and preferential rates, marketing funds and override opportunities from cruise lines
  • Work with the Supplier Relations team to deliver budgeted marketing funds and overrides
  • Understand the commercial and marketing agreements and KPI’s that work for each partner
  • Support the Supplier Relations team to track all long and short-term overrides on a daily/weekly basis
  • Produce and deliver an action plan by cruise line to maximise sales, ROI and override earnings
  • Track performance of groups with cruise lines and work with the product team to maximise Tour Conductor earnings
  • Work with the product teams to ensure we are marketing the right products to maximise sales based on this information and the intelligence we obtain from the cruise lines
  • Produce a weekly trading update on how our performance compares to the cruise lines and where there are opportunities
  • Conduct a weekly website review proposing changes versus our competitors and suggest actions on product to improve our shop windows

Measures of Success

  • Evidence of strong and favourable partnership relationships with all cruise lines
  • Achievement of maximum commercial override earning opportunities to the agreed targets
  • Incremental marketing funds secured from cruise line partners
  • Build an exclusive offers portfolio to an agreed target


Skills and Experience

  • Proven ability to negotiate and influence within the travel industry, preferably within the cruise sector
  • Results oriented with strong commercial acumen
  • Outgoing personality with an excellent ability to work under pressure
  • The nature of this role means that there is a considerable amount of UK travel and some international travel required to fulfil the requirements. The job holder must have the ability to understand and recognise the level flexibility required to carry out this role.
  • Strong analytical, influencing and communication skills
  • Self-starter, with strong leadership skills and ability to embrace change
